Liberia Costa Rica

Liberia is the gateway to the North Pacific Region of Costa Rica and the biggest city in Guanacaste. The Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) shows the urban development of Liberia. But still, Liberia features lots of cattle farms and old adobe houses that represent a colonial style. Visitors can enjoy the view of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and visit the national parks that surround this area such as Santa Rosa, Rincón de la Vieja and Palo Verde National Parks.

Liberia is mainly a crossroad for travelers visiting the Guanacaste beaches. From one beautiful beach to another you will be amazed by the ocean views and beautiful sunsets. Papagayo Peninsula has developed into a destination offering upscale accommodations, private residences, a marina and a world class golf course. Playa Tamarindo is a very popular surfing beach town offering many charming shops, art galleries and restaurants. If you keep going south of Tamarindo, you will arrive to Playa Nosara. With a very peaceful atmosphere, this small village is also a very popular surfing destination and has some of the best yoga retreats in the country.
